Gateway Fiber announced today it began building its 100% fiber-optic broadband internet network in northwest Lincoln County, one of the first Missouri areas benefitting from a $42 million NTIA grant designed to expand broadband internet coverage in underserved communities. Gateway was awarded $10 million of this grant funding, the largest share among Missouri recipients.

Gateway Fiber held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 4 at the Washington Chamber of Commerce accompanied by Mayor Doug Hagedorn and several other civic leaders to announce the official start of construction for Gateway's high-speed network in Washington, MO.

Gateway Fiber and the city of Washington, MO, have announced a new high-speed fiber-optic internet services provider coming to the area. Gateway Fiber, a rapidly expanding local fiber-optic internet provider, will fund the construction project.

As part of Gateway Fiber’s ongoing community outreach efforts, Lincoln County-based charity Buddy Bags received a donation of $2,840 in groceries from Gateway, thanks to “Gateway Gives: Dining Out for Buddy Bags,” a customer appreciation event hosted by Big Sticky’s Barbecue in Troy on October 9.
