We started building in your community, but our construction is on hold. Before we can finish, the city has to approve our permits, and those approvals are stalled because the city is using rules designed for cable television to stop us from providing you with internet service.
Gateway isn’t a cable TV company—we build fiber internet. We’re not asking for an exception from the rules; we’re asking the city to stop applying cable TV rules to prevent a fiber internet company from providing city residents with more reliable internet service. And this isn’t only about today. Fiber internet is built for what’s coming: more connected devices, more opportunities for working and learning from home, more of everything that runs on a reliable connection.
In the meantime, many homes here are stuck with fewer options, which usually means higher prices and slower speeds than you’d get with real competition.

We, the residents and businesses in this community who have signed below, want 100% fiber internet in our community, and we want the city to let it be built.
Gateway Fiber began bringing fiber service to this community, and many of us signed up for it. Construction has now stopped, because the city has not approved the permits Gateway needs to finish the work. The city is applying decades old cable television rules to a company that builds fiber internet, not cable TV services. As a result, homes and businesses that want better, faster, more affordable internet are still waiting.
We’re asking the council to do one simple thing: approve the permits so the work can continue and our neighborhoods can get connected.
Better internet means more opportunities to improve our kids’ education, create jobs, and expand our businesses. We want the city to help us meet these goals, not stand in the way.
